Sandys now has its own in-store butcher who selects and prepares Beef, Lamb, Pork, Game, Wild Boar, and Veal into various cuts. Only the best lean meats are selected, prepared and packed into ready-to-buy packs. Our gorgeous "Rack of Lamb" is often in demand for its quality and presentation.
Sandys Beef has been hung for a minimum of 20 days by traditional methods, sometimes referred to as "Dry-Ageing" where the beef is hung on-the-bone in a temperature controlled environment. This process has the effect of removing excess moisture, drying slightly and giving a full beef flavour to ensure the meat is tender. Shrinkage during cooking is also minimized.
In addition to the large selection of meat cuts, Sandys have over 30 varieties of Speciality Sausages, some of which are Gluten Free too:

A general price guide
Cooked only
The price of the raw fish price plus £5.00 for salmon up to 3.0Kg, £7.50 for salmon over 3.0Kg in weight.
This charge is for Boning, Poaching and Skinning. After cooling the salmon is garnished with lettuce or parsley on a platter.
Cooked and Dressed
The sizes start from 2.2Kg Salmon to a massive 5.5Kg Salmon.
All inclusive £30.00 for 2.2Kg to £65 for the 5.5Kg salmon.
These prices includes the cost of the fish, Poaching Skinning, Boning and Dressing on a platter. Peeled sliced cucumber is laid over body to retain moisture, Sliced cucumber covering platter, grapes and lemon around the salmon and grapes over the salmon. A vegetable bouquet to one side completes the presentation.
An Organic option is also available.

Your fish can be prepared free of charge to your own specifications, or our award winning team can suggest a preparation to suit your needs. We can: Clean, Fillet, Bone, Pocket, Skin, Pin-Bone and Steak.
All products can, on request, be "vacuum packed" if you are going to transport the produce over some distance. Vacuum packing helps to prolong the shelf life (all produce still needs to be kept cool) and reduce leakage of contents.

Sandys' own in-house butcher selects our range of splendid poultry products. Our premium free-range chickens are farm reared in Devon. They are sent to us via overnight refrigerated transport to arrive the next morning in first class condition. On arrival, our butcher checks and prepares the chickens. They are carefully sorted into whole birds, portions of breast supreme, and legs & thighs.
New to our free-range selections are the delicious Poulet Noir (a black footed and feathered breed of chicken), and Label Anglais (a special slow-growing breed based on two old British breeds, the Red Cornish & the White Rock).
We also offer Corn-fed and Banham chickens as whole birds or in portions.
Ready-to-eat cooked & smoked chicken and duck fillet portions are also stocked.
Ducks are often forgotten as a tasty alternative. These are stocked whole, and as breast fillets & legs.
For Christmas, New Year and Easter, we stock Turkeys and Geese. It is recomended to order early to avoid disappointment at these busy times.
At Sandys, we source game from within the United Kingdom, using fresh free-range supplies wherever possible. As game is seasonal, and fresh is not always available, you may have to order giving us a day or two's notice. We do, however, carry a stock of frozen game.
Rabbits, Venison and Pheasants when in season are available fresh. Frozen varieties are available throughout the year.

We stock a superior selection of smoked fish from these smokehouses: Tradional Smoked Salmon, Hot Smoked Salmon, Scottish Atlantic Smoked Salmon, Balmoral Salmon Fillet, Gravadlax, Oysters, Mussels, Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna, Eel, Halibut and Trout. We also stock a "Mild Smoked Salmon" which still requires cooking and has a delicious, stronger flavour compared to fresh salmon.
