Terrapieno ‘Foscarino’ Soave Classico 2018 £10.99 – Wine of the Week
We love this Wine of the Week and have paired it with Chef Steve’s Crab Linguini. Foscarino is such a food friendly wine it’s delicious with so many dishes from fishy risottos or pastas to soft cheeses such as ricotta or burrata. It’s also really good with sushi and sashimi. Nutty cheeses such as Comte or Gruyère and even veggie couscous work well too. And some of us love it with Vitello Tonnato (veal with tuna sauce)!
TYPE: Dry, lean, fresh but with a good body
TEMPERATURE: 7-120C Cold
ABOUT: The grapes for this wine come from the hills of Foscarino, one of the best known production areas in the Soave Classico region. The vineyards are trained using the traditional Pergola Veronese and are 30-40 years old. Thanks to the efforts of the winery to produce ‘zero-impact grapes’ and a production system with minimal environmental impact, the wine is sustainably produced. Stainless-steel tank fermentation has retained the perfumed notes of this Soave Classico, whilst the 10% of the blend aged in small French barriques for five months helps give good body and a rounded, smooth almond-like finish.
ABV: 13% Vegan & Vegetarian
