ABOUT: Talented young winemaker Martin Lamprecht was born in Cape Town, but raised in the small town of Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal. He blames his close-knit family for his love of life and all the beautiful and delicious things in it. It was this joy of sharing experiences that sent Marras down the winemaking path; he graduated from Elsenbuderg Agricultural Training Institute and was then mentored by the legendary David Nieuwoudt of Cederberg Wines. After a stint in the Northern Rhône, Martin learnt that a winemaker must never overestimate his own importance. He also learnt how to produce wines that showcase the history of the vineyard and the land. In his words “All I really do is take the grapes by their hands and guide them to where they want to be.”
