Frédéric Berne Beaujolais Lantignié `Pierre Bleue` 2018 Was £16.50 Now £14.85
Great with poultry such as smoked chicken, duck rillette, crispy skinned duck breast with a fig and endive salad and charcuterie plates. Don’t rule out fish as tuna and swordfish steaks with either lots of buttered new potatoes or a parsley, mint couscous salad work really well too.
TYPE: Light bodied, soft tannins, lifted acidity
TEMPERATURE: 12-160C Lightly Chilled
ABOUT: Brought up on a farm in Beaujolais, Frédéric Berne has always had a natural connection with the land around him. Encouraged by his parents to do something different, and attracted by wine’s ability to express its surroundings, he decided to become a winemaker. Frédéric has six hectares between Beaujolais Villages, Morgon and Chiroubles, and is currently converting all his vineyards to organic viticulture. Frédéric follows a policy of minimal intervention in his winemaking and uses only natural yeasts. The ‘Pierre Bleue’ soils of a predominantly clay nature give this wine a deep colour, fragrant perfume and soft tannins.
