ABOUT: Monte del Frà (meaning ‘land of the monks’) gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. Now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family who are working towards totally sustainable agriculture on their picturesque land bordering the Venetian alps on the South East of Lake Garda. The Custoza Superiore is an outstanding single vineyard wine that’s won the coveted Gambero Rosso tre bicchieri (3 glasses) award 8 years in a row. A really outstanding wine for it’s price tag.
Whilst drinking extremely well now, this wine will continue to develop over the next 4-6years.
